I. why icons and clicking are old fashion

Since Apple and Win 3.1, the UI for people looks like be nailed on clicking icons by using mouse.
On the other hand, system administrators still prefer to work on a console with typing, artn’t they?
If you are a freak in japanese animation, you may have ever watched ‘Ghost in the Shell’. You watched a lot of android operators were typing keyboad by their ‘move free’ fingers. You may wondered giving data by streaming was absolutely faster than their typing, also a lot of typing androids were definitely unnecessary.

I think the powerful data input method order is

1. telepathy(=thinking)
2. stream(=computer to computer or use USB or…)
3. speak(=recog. voice)
4. type(=hit the keyboard)

You may claim about an eye blinking method, but it is the alternative pointing device, thus it is not on the list.
The 1 is going on, the 2 realizes but need data preparation, the 3 is available, the 4 is the present.
I believe the road map of the data input method is going to 4 -> 2 -> 3 -> 1. The ultimate is 1 and 3, guess the 1 need to be personalized, therefore the 3 will be the best way for people, indeed many speech recognition applications are working fine now. I mean ‘clicking’ method is the 5th option, oops it may is not for windows system, sorry. 🙂

Ok then, the 2 sometimes does not need human hand, meaning it is the alternative method, so 4 -> 3 -> 1 is the order.
After 3 & 1, we will not need any ‘procedures’,
z.B. think about delete one column on Excel sheet

1. point the cursol to the place
2. click the right button
3. select ‘delete one column’ in the menu

You see at least 3 actions are required to delete only one column.
How about in speakin’, the 3 method,

1. say ‘delete C column’

Hey, one action. Of course ‘telepathy’ is as well. Also the same literal at the console can do it. Every methods do it by single action.

Next, think about happening an error. In case of ‘clicking’ method, you see often an alert box that tells you ‘○☓%&△!□$’. Then you are ‘Sa la ka!‘(ﾟ∀ﾟ). I do not think kind of this responces are called user friendly.
As far as you are a system admin, you say ‘just show me the whole error message, or summarized one. Judging is my job. ‘, even the error was unknow, you may ask for ‘guide me what should i do next’. BUT the most of all systems keep silence, you have to open their log file to know what happened. Oh my…

As you know ‘icon’ is a program, it has consective processes behind it. Before arising ‘icon’, the ‘function’ was a shell program. Each of programs were tidied up in a shell program. It was OK for a system administrator and a professional, but not for people, that why ‘icon’ was developed. It was the greatest idea for popularizing a personal computer in the early era. Because not only computer, but also English were not common in ordinaly people at that era.

Now, you, around 20 〜 40, 50, even teenager, know computer and also English is at least your second language, do not you? You know a computer application has a function ‘file open’ for selecting to opening file, ‘copy’ is for copying something. You know the difference between ‘paste’ and ‘delete’, good you have great English skill. 🙂
Now you know what you wanna do on there, but you have to looking for the icon on there. Nightmare, icons are due to universal design ,thoug their position are not ruled in each of applications. You just wanna upload your file to a server, hey let’s count how many times do you role your eyes.
Our eyes keep movin’ on a screen during manipulating an application, then they are exhausted by the evening. Hey you do not need to give a good business oppotunity to eye ware stores.
Not only getting tired, you often lose your concetration on there, because you always have to repeat ‘thinking‘,’searching‘ and ‘executing‘.

II. in case of Jetelina

Ha ha, finally this is my point, ‘searching’ is out of date now. We can connect ‘thinking’ and ‘executing’ directly.
Look at Jetelina, it has a chat box to order something your ‘thinking’ with an ordinary phrase. e.g in case of you wanna see the registered database table list, just type ‘open table list’, ‘show me table’ or simply tables’ and/or …, then Jetelina serves you the table list what it can do. 2. upload a csv file for creating database table
3. create WebApis
4. execute WebApis as test mode on Jetelina
5. delete WebApis
6. delete database table
7. measure WebApis execution speed

Do 1-7 on each of databases: PostgreSql, MySql, Redis, MongoDB.
Now you can imagine how to drive these functions by typing.
